In America, it seems to me, we have a tendency to worship ourselves - our comfort, our well-being, our desires. The problem with this (one among many) comes when we ask God to tear down our idols. God is more than happy to destroy any idols we place in our lives, but think of the care that He must take to destroy our idols when we are the idols. I would imagine this is the reason the process of reconciliation and repentance is so painful.
This is also why we must use extreme caution when being rebuilt. Our form (body, appearance, personality) most likely hasn´t changed much from our past days. But our function must change. Our new selves must change from objects that have received worship to objects that give worship and glory to our great God.
While in prayer this morning, I received a word from God. Originally I thought I was to only share it with my fellow boot campers, but I think maybe everyone who reads this should hear the words as well.
Approach these next two days with great fervor and I will do great things.
Couldn´t hurt to try, could it? Attempt great things for God. Expect great things from God.

Hmmm...much to think about! Maybe sometimes we don't even really know what we're asking God for? We might get more than we bargained with, eh? And yet it's always for our ultimate good...
Sometimes as I deal with the kids, I catch a fleeting glimpse of how it is for God to deal with His children! And as much as I love them and care for them, God loves His even more perfectly! I am thankful for His gentleness and faithfulness...
