My Day...

So someone suggested I just talk about a typical day in my life. Sorry, probably no great theological insights here, just stuff about plain old me.

I usually wake up at 6:00 to the song "Lovesong" on my cell phone. But I don't get up; I wait for Sara on the other side of the room to get up first, about 5 minutes later. I don't know why, it's just what I do. I brush my teeth, put on my PT clothes, and head over to the classroom. I do my best to avoid talking this entire time, because those of you who know me know I'm NOT a morning person (people are still figuring that out here).

We have devotions every morning from 6:30 to 7, led by a different person each week. At 7 we make our way down to the PT field. Lately, we've begun our PT time bundled up in sweats, then shed them throughout the hour of exercise. Gotta love those chilly September mornings! I usually start wanting to leave PT about 10-15 minutes into it, but stick it out anyway. By the end of PT, I'm usually covered in dew, sweat, and grass from rolling around on the ground doing push ups, sit ups, and other random forms of torture. :)

After PT, there's usually confusion between the 5 girls in my room as to who will take the first shower. Being the decisive one that I am, I usually get it because no one else will step up and make a decision.

I eat breakfast, then have Jesus time for about an hour. Right now I'm going through the book of Isaiah and absolutely loving it. I get excited every time I read it, because God is so awesome!!

Class starts at 10. I usually try to sit in the back of the room (leftover from my high school teacher days). I stay awake most of the time in class, but we all have our rough days. 12:00 is lunch, which is usually spectacular.

After lunch, we do chores from 1-2. Kim and I clean the dining hall and have fun with it. She brought an iPod dock from home so we listen to music while we clean. I have to be careful when we use my iPod, though, because little children are often present and the previous owner of my iPod didn't have good taste in music.

2-3 is free time, when I do things like what I'm doing right now (read emails, write letters, sleep). 3:00 is the afternoon class, whatever it's about. This class is usually harder to stay awake in, especially if I took a nap during free time. I like to hassle Mr. John when he's teaching; it keeps me awake. We have 2 hours of class, often full of my sarcastic, smart-alek comments (I know you're surprised. Don't worry, Mom, I'm not mean; it's all in good fun).

5-6 is sometimes reserved for the long-winded teachers, but sometimes it's just free time (time to do all that homework Mr. John assigned). 6:30 is dinner, also usually extraordinary. After that, I'll read a little, take a trip to Target or Starbucks to get away, or hand out and sing while Kim plays the guitar. By around 10:30 I'm ready for bed, because I know that 6:00 comes fast and I don't want to toss my cookies in PT (I think Mr. Logan is a little disappointed that none of us have thrown up in PT but him. I'm not going to give him the satisfaction, though.)

So there you have it; that's my day. Not too exciting in its description, but the good parts are all of the in-between things, the relationships and the unscheduled fun. I really love being here at BFBC.

Ms. Matchell,

Can't believe your in the back of the class, but i guess it's not math. Did you know mathematicians never get old (you should have kept your job) they just lose some of their functions.

Keep on keeping on. You said it best, God is awesome.

For the Kingdom,
Clayton

Thanks for updating us on the daily details. :) We miss you so much, it's nice to know what you're doing each moment of the day when we think of you. I'll have to read it to the kiddos. :) Always glad to keep you updated on the family and all our craziness. :)

I really enjoyed hearing about your typical day...seeing that it's missionary training! :) I'm tired just thinking about it!!! But it sounds like really good training and I know God will use it for good in your life. Blessings! Becky
