God's Love

I was thinking today about how awesome God is. Of course, we all know this, so let me explain why I was thinking about how awesome God is.

God is good. He loves us. It’s in his very nature, and He has told us that He loves us. And yet the Bible is filled with verses of God saying again and again, “I love you. My love will always be with you. I love you. I love you. I love you.” Why does He say it so much? He said it once; shouldn’t that be enough? I mean God is good, and He does not lie, so by saying it once, we should believe it and hold onto that promise. He doesn’t have to continually reaffirm how much He loves us. But He does. Why? I’m not sure. Maybe because His love is so vast that one little “I love you” doesn’t cut it. Or maybe because we are so forgetful and so trusting that we have to hear it again and again and again (and we still don’t always believe it).

When I teach, I have to repeat myself often. The first couple of times, I don’t mind it, because I know that it takes the brain awhile to process information. But if I have to say the same thing 20 times in one class, I get frustrated, impatient, and angry. God doesn’t! He loves reminding us again and again about how much He loves us! Isn’t that awesome? He loves us so much that every time we ask Him, He tells us again. What if your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/parent/child asked you every day if you loved them? Wouldn’t you get annoyed, maybe even offended after awhile? Shouldn’t your actions speak for themselves? Thank God that His love is beyond our understanding, our patience, and our capabilities of achieving!!!
